Bride Of Glen Ridge Man. Miss Eleanor Chamberlain Porter, daughter of Judge and Mrs. Newton H. Porter of 337 Grove street, and Alfred Peter Degenhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Degenhardt of 10 High street, Glen Ridge, were married at St. James' Episcopal Church by the Rev. James T. Lodge, rector of St. John's Church, yesterday afternoon. The bride's sisters, the Misses Elizabeth Bodine Porter and Catherine Alice Porter were maids of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Jane Mathers of Montclair and Miss Amelia Elizabeth Degenhardt of Glen Ridge, sister of the bridegroom. Robert Post of Englewood was best man. The ushers were Newton H. Porter Jr. and Richard D. Porter, brothers of the bride; William Seifert and Bow. r Keebler of Philadelphia, Frank De Riso of Woodcliff, Richard English of Jersey City, John Clunen of East Orange and Frederick Kunz of New York. The bride, who was given in mar-rage by her father, wore a gown of white mousseline de soie, with a high neck in front and a row of small buttons down the back, long sleeves with puffs above the elbows and a deep ruffle around the skirt and train. A cap of lace worn by her mother at her wedding held the balloon veil of double tulle. She carried lilies-of-the-valley and white sweet peas. The bridesmaids and maids of honor had dresses of gray organza, made with big puff sleeves, tight-fitting jackets buttoned down the front with cherry-red velvet buttons and narrow belts of cherry-red velvet. The skirts were trimmed with bands of gray net edging running up and down the length of the skirt. The maids or honor wore hats oi cherry red, and Miss Mathers and Miss Degenhardt wore grey hats trimmed with cherry-red bands. All the bridesmaids carried bouquets of cherry colored snapdragons and African daisies, purple larkspur, yellow daisies and blue lace flower. Mrs. Porter wore a rose colored triple sheer gown trimmed with alencon lace of the same color" and a matching hat. Her corsage was of orchids. Mrs. Degenhardt's dress was of hyacinth blue lace and her hat was of the same hue. She carried talisman roses and lilies-of-the-valley. The church was decorated with cibotium ferns, dogwood and bridal wreaths. White peonies were at the end of each pew. There was no reception following the ceremony, but the members of the bridal party and a few intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at the Porter home. Mr. and Mrs. Degenhardt left for a three months trip to Europe. After their return in August, they will join the Porter family in New Hamp-hre until after Labor Day. They will then make their, home at 148 Park street, Montclair.
