Description Allende meteorite, fresh crusted individual. It was almost certainly recovered shortly after the fall occurred on Feb 8th 1969, in Chihuahua, Mexico. This meteorite is classified as a CV3 (Vigarano group, type 3) carbonaceous chondrite. Specimen weighs 5 grams. Note the contraction cracks in the fusion crust which formed when the stone rapidly cooled during it's descent through the atmosphere.
