Description
Deutsch: Alling-Holzhausen, Filialkirche Heilig Kreuz: gemäß seiner Vision lässt Konstantin seine Soldaten die beiden ersten Buchstaben des griechischen Namens Christi (=christos), nämlich das X (gesprochen “chi”) und das P (gesprochen “rho”) als ein einziges Zeichen in einer Schreibposition übereinander auf die Schilde malen (im Gemälde wird es auf der Heeresfahne dargestellt). Tatsächlich erringt er in den folgenden Schlachten gegen den römischen Mitkaiser Maxentius stets den Sieg und sichert so seine Herrschaft. Danach verlegt er seine Residenz von Rom nach Konstantinopel
