Description
English: High relief of the sculptor Manuel Ardil Pagán (1980) present until 2019 in the BBVA bank office in the Calle Mayor of Cartagena, Spain. In it appears the city itself, represented as a woman with a naked bust that carries, in her hand and on her head, the double mural crown that was granted to Carthago Nova after the conquest by the Roman general Scipio Africanus. Next to the woman is shown a disk presided by Hasdrubal the Fair, founder of the city in Carthaginian times, and is accompanied by several motives that make up the identity of Cartagena, such as a lighthouse, a chimney as a symbol of the industry, a caduceus in representation of the trade, a windmill, some amphoras and the Ancient Roman columns of Calle de la Seña.
