Amanita gayana (Mont.) Sacc. Image location: Reserva Nacional Nonguén, Biobío Region, Chile Hongo ectomicorrícico que presenta basidiomas creciendo de forma individual o dispersos en pequeños grupos sobre el suelo bajo árboles del género Nothofagus. En la Reserva Nacional Nonguén se encontraba sobre suelo y hojarasca bajo N. obliqua. Ha sido descrita como la más pequeña de las Amanitas chilenas, con un color anaranjado del píleo y margen de la volva inconfundible, siempre bajo árboles del género Nothofagus (N. obliqua, N. dombeyi y N. pumilio).
