| Description |
English: Full length front view of the marble statue of Saint Catherine from the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena. The sculpture shows Catherine of Alexandria holding a series of attributes including the crown, the sword, the palm of martyrdom and the breaking wheel, while trampling the crowned head of the Roman emperor Maxentius.
The statue, dating from the 16th century, was originally part of the architectural complex that made up the old Fountain of Saint Catherine, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Español: Vista frontal a tamaño completo de la estatua de mármol de Santa Catalina del Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Cartagena. La escultura muestra a Catalina de Alejandría sosteniendo una serie de atributos que incluyen la corona, la espada, la palma del martirio y la rueda, mientras pisotea la cabeza coronada del emperador romano Majencio. La estatua, que data del siglo XVI, formaba parte originalmente del conjunto arquitectónico que componía la antigua Fuente de Santa Catalina, en la Plaza del Ayuntamiento. |
