Description
English: Portrait in the Calle de Sor Francisca Armendáriz in Cartagena (Spain) of the actress Antera Baus. The work was created in 2021 by the artist Clara Ledo as part of the municipal divulgation project "Huellas de mujer. Cartagena en femenino".

The text that accompanies the portrait reads:

Born in Cartagena in 1797. She made her debut as an actress at the age of 11. In 1811 she joined the company called Teatro Español in Madrid, being promoted to first lady in just one year.
She represented comedies, dramas and tragedies in the company of Isidoro Máiquez, with great successes being the first actress. She retired from the stage in 1836, and passed away in Madrid in 1855.

En el texto que acompaña al retrato se lee:

Nacida en Cartagena en 1797. Debutó como actriz a los 11 años. En 1811 pasó a la compañía llamada Teatro Español en Madrid, siendo primera dama en solo un año.
Representó comedias, dramas y tragedias en la compañía de Isidoro Máiquez, con grandes éxitos siendo la primera actriz. Se retiró de los escenarios en 1836, y falleció en Madrid en 1855.
