Antonio Zucca: Importer of Italian products; born Trieste, Austria; son of Frencesco and Maria (Miniussi) Zucca; educated Trieste Commercial College (won competition commercial prize of 500 floring); married 1st, Virginia Perina, of Trieste (deceased 1898); 2d, Brooklyn, N.Y., 1902, Lillian Hicks; one daughter, Irma, born 1892. Came to the United States in 1869 and established the house of Zucca & Co.; introduced many of the Italian products in the American market. Became [an] American citizen and organized the Italian Political Association; was school trustee for several years; coroner for the Borough of Manhattan four years; president Board of Assessors, New York City; member Executive Committee Tammany Hall; president Italian-American Democratic Association, Italian Chamber of Commerce; director Italian-American Trust Co., Italian Savings Bank, Italian Benevolent Association; treasurer Fruit Exchange and Liberal Emigration League. Democrat. Roman Catholic. Decorated three times by the King of Italy; with the Cross of Crown of Italy, and as officer of same order, and with order of Commendatore of the Crown of Italy; also decorated by President Crespo of Venezuela. Address: 25 West Broadway, New York City.
