Summary: Unsigned ink drawings, colored with brightly-hued watercolors, of Apache Indians. The drawings were most likely made by Gokliz at Fort Sill, Okla., where they were probably collected for Edward E. Ayer by his nephew, Elbridge Ayer Burbank. Included are pictures of warriors, combat, and weaponry; horses and saddles; bear and buffalo hunters; women and babies; dancers; rugs and drums; a rattlesnake, etc. scan from 4x5 trans @ 1600 dpi date 6-12-06 |
