DescriptionArmagh St. Patrick's Cathedral of the Church of Ireland North Aisle W14 William Lodge Kidd Memorial Window 2013 09 24.jpg |
St. Patrick's Cathedral of the Church of Ireland, Armagh, County Armagh, Northern Ireland English: Stained glass window W14 in the west wall of the south aisle, depicting the Good Samaritan in its centre light and illustrating Matthew 25:36: “I was sick, and ye visited Me; I was in prison, and ye came unto Me.” in the left and right light. The lower section of the window is unfortunately blocked by some furniture. The window was erected in memory of William Lodge Kidd MD (16 December 1784–2 April 1851) who was a Doctor in Armagh and Medical Inspector of the County Prison. The window was cartooned and executed by William Warrington, London, in 1852. (See Kevin V. Mulligan, The Buildings of Ireland: South Ulster, p. 104; W. R. H. Carson, The Stained Glass Windows of the Cathedral Church of St. Patrick Armagh, p. 20–21; gloine.ie.) |
