Summary edit

Description
English: Plate I

Original description:

Design for square footstool or cushion -- strawberry blossom and leaves. If used for a footstool, it should be worked in crewels on cloth or serge ; if for a cushion, in silks on silk or satin ; or it may be worked on woollen stuff partly in crewels and partly in silk. It will be seen that this design is adapted to its purpose by looking equally well in any position, it being impossible to be placed upside down. It may be enlarged to any size required for either of the above-named purposes. Half-a-yard square is a good size for a cushion. The border at the foot of the plate is intended for the sides of the footstool, and would not be required for the cushion.
