Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van het bisdom Bergen werd in 1662 gepubliceerd in het eerste deel van de Atlas Maior. Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) de uitgever van de kaart beschikte op dat moment niet over een actuele en betrouwbare kaart van het bisdom. Waarschijnlijk greep hij daarom terug op een oude overzichtskaart van Scandinavie uit 1626 van de Zweedse kartograaf Anders Bureus (1571-1661) en vergrootte hij het detail waarop het bisdom was afgebeeld.
English: The map of the Diocese Bergen was published in 1662 in the first volume of the Atlas Maior. Joan Blaeu (1598-1673), the publisher of the map did not have recent maps of the area available. Therefore he used an older survey map of Scandinavia from 1626 by the Swedish cartographer Anders Bureus (1571-1661) and enlarged the detail with the diocese Bergen.
