Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van de zuidelijke provincies van Spanje werd in 1635 uitgegeven door Willem Jansz. Blaeu (ca. (1571-1638). De kaart werd tijdens de 17de eeuw een aantal maal herdrukt, onder andere door Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) ten behoeve van zijn Atlas Maior. Let bij deze kaart op de titelcartouche: de titel is geplaatst op een leeuwenvel dat tussen twee kolommen is opgehangen. Dit wordt geinterpreteerd als een 17de-eeuwse versie van de pilaren van Hercules uit de Klassieke oudheid.
English: This map of the southern provinces of Spain was published in 1635 by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638). The map was reissued a number of times during the 17th century by publishers amongst whom Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) for the Atlas Maior from 1662.
