Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van de eilandengroep de Azoren werd in 1662 opgenomen in de Atlas Maior van Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). De auteur van deze kaart was de Portugese kartograaf Luís Teixeira. Diens kaart werd in 1584 gepubliceerd in de atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum van de Antwerpse kartograaf Abraham Ortelius. Blaeus kaart is een kopie van de kaart van Ortelius (1527-1598).
English: This map of the group of islands the Azores was in 1662 included in the Atlas Maior by Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). The author of the map was the Portugese cartographer Luís Teixeira. His map was published in 1584 in the atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum from Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598). Blaeus map is a copy of Ortelius map.
