Description
Deutsch: Das Reiterstandbild wurde zwischen 1732 und 1734 von Ludwig Wiedemann geschaffen. Es ist aus Kupfer getrieben und feuervergoldet. Es zeigt August den Starken als römischen Caesar mit Rüstung. Es steht in Dresden auf dem Neustädter Markt. August der Starke wurde am 12. Mai 1670 als Friedrich August I. als zweitältester Spross des Wettiner Geschlechts geboren. Er bestieg mit 24 Jahren nach dem Tod seines Bruders den kursächsichen Thron. Am 15.09.1697 wurde er als August II. zum polnischen König gekrönt. Er starb am 01.02.1733 in Warschau.
