English: When I first moved to Essex in 1988, there was a contract steam engineering operation inside Brightlingsea Docks, on the River Colne, known as Sail & Steam Engineering Ltd. One dull Sunday I went over there and got these shots of 9F 92134 disassembled and an unidentified LMS 4-6-0 in a similar state. In addition an LNER short tender, such as a B12, was in evidence. The entire operation folded acrimoniously shortly afterwards and was surrounded in secrecy. I never did find out which LMS loco it was or why the LNER tender was there and there is scant information today on the web about this. In fact the NYMR page on 92134 claims it went straight from Barry to the NYMR - which is clearly not true. |
