| Description |
Baginbun Head, Hook Peninsula, County Wexford, Ireland English: Ringwork fortification, probably created during the Anglo Norman invasion at Baginbun in 1170 by Raymond FitzGerald. This fortification, consisting of two earthen banks, runs in east-west direction across the headland over 230 meters. This photo has been taken close to the western end of the fortification, looking west between the two earthen banks along the path between the earthen banks. See entry 962 in Michael J. Moore: Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford, ISBN 0-7076-2326-X. |
