Part of plate 1, Baist's Real Estate Maps of Surveys of Seattle (1905). Shows building-by-building detail of the part of what is now the Pioneer Square neighborhood (then Seattle's commercial center) and the government buildings near the south end of downtown. The lower (southern) part covers between Occidental Way and Fifth Avenue South from just above Main Street to Yesler Way; the upper part extends roughly from Second Avenue to Fifth Avenue as far north as Cherry Street. This shows the street layout before Second Avenue Extension was built south of Yesler Way. This is a raw image of a plastic-covered document: some reflections and also some shadow. |
