Description
English: Most kebab restaurants ("kebapçı") and some cafés in Turkey have a traditional oven ("kara fırın") which has only one room for the wood/carbon and the food. This is in one of the newly growing "simitçi" cafés. Called with names like "Simit Dünyası" or "Simit Sarayı" (Simit world, simit palace) these ca!é chains carry out several functions: They serve simit, like a "simitçi" (hawker) or as a "simit fırını" (bakery that makes simit, other than conventional breads), they serve soft drinks and pies, cakes, like a "pastane" ("pasteleria) or even serve several dishes, as if they were restaurants. This one is called "Bahçeli Simit", not a chain, and in Bahçelievler, Ankara.
