English: Built in 1982, this Organic Modern building was designed by William Wesley Peters of Taliesin Associated Architects to serve as the Bartlesville Community Center, a public auditorium and performing arts center. Peters, who worked at Taliesin late in Wright’s career, carried on his legacy through the design and construction of buildings, including unbuilt designs by Frank Lloyd Wright. The building stands adjacent to the Price Tower on Unity Square in Downtown Bartlesville, and replaced the earlier Bartlesville Civic Center, built in 1922 and demolished in 1990. The building features a bold orange, light blue, and white front facade, red brick cladding on the side and rear facades, a cylindrical tower at the southwest corner of the building, a tall stage house in the rear, large upside-down arches around a second-story arcade on the front facade, a swooping, curved roof, a curved front facade, and a large auditorium inside the building. The building is a great example of the legacy of Wright's architecture, and makes a nice horizontal, rounded, and differently-colored counterpoint to the Price Tower next door.
