Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Recent Washington State church stuff

Thanks for a lot of good work. I've had a few things where I edited behind you, but mostly I agree with your edits. One thing though: when something was in Category:United Methodist churches in Washington (state) and has now closed, I don't think it should just have that replaced by Category:Former Methodist churches in Washington (state), because it loses the category connection to United Methodist. That's true. We could create a "Former United Methodist churches" category and nest it in both "Former Methodist" and "United Methodist" Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Absolutely, but a 2008 picture of a Methodist church is not a picture of a "former Methodist church" just because is no longer a Methodist church in 2024, any more than a 1933 photo of Franklin Delano Roosevelt is a picture of a dead man. - Jmabel ! talk 17:46, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Churches of the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.
