Places of worship edit

Given what you've been up to, I was wondering if there was anything you could add or improve at Places of worship in Seattle. No obligation, of course. - Jmabel ! talk 18:46, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

International Church of Cann. edit

Sorry about that. Jeffrey Beall (talk) 19:51, 30 November 2023 (UTC).Reply

No worries! Working on a big cleanup project related to religious buildings to remove duplicative categories and ensure photos are correctly categorized. Dclemens1971 (talk) 19:54, 30 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Recent Washington State church stuff edit

Thanks for a lot of good work. I've had a few things where I edited behind you, but mostly I agree with your edits. One thing though: when something was in Category:United Methodist churches in Washington (state) and has now closed, I don't think it should just have that replaced by Category:Former Methodist churches in Washington (state), because it loses the category connection to United Methodist. I haven't followed up on that thought, but you might want to. - Jmabel ! talk 17:24, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

That's true. We could create a "Former United Methodist churches" category and nest it in both "Former Methodist" and "United Methodist" Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks.
Also: be careful about referring to things as "former" when the were not "former" at the time of the photo: [1]. - Jmabel ! talk 17:29, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
The categories and descriptions should be as accurate as possible. Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:35, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Absolutely, but a 2008 picture of a Methodist church is not a picture of a "former Methodist church" just because is no longer a Methodist church in 2024, any more than a 1933 photo of Franklin Delano Roosevelt is a picture of a dead man. - Jmabel ! talk 17:46, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
& here you managed to lose all connection to Methodism in the categories (I'll fix it). - Jmabel ! talk 17:31, 1 May 2024 (UTC) Similarly here. - Jmabel ! talk 17:34, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

File:Arthur Murray (W. Hastings Street) Vancouver 1960.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category edit

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Churches of the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion). Jmabel ! talk 04:04, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Similarly at Category:St. Jude the Apostle Church, which I only just found about 3 weeks after you blanked it. - Jmabel ! talk 05:22, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
