Description

(1 in a multiple picture album) It is said that Yosemite National Park has the highest concentration of granite in the world. This picture supports that claim. From the stones in the Tuolumne River, to the boulders along the banks, to the granite hills, and finally Lembert Dome, there is hard rock everywhere you look.

If not for a thin layer of top soil and the river, we'd be looking at a world of granite.
