Description

Baureihe 228, no 228 776-1 outside the former station at Blauenthal. I think this was one of the six axle locomotives, which had lower axle loads, making them suitable for lightly engineered branch lines. This one was in a darker shade of livery. This stretch had already been abandoned in 1990, but was reprieved for passenger traffic until 1995. Goods activity, of which this locomotive was engaged, finished in 1994.
