Description:

Boîte ronde en écaille cerclée d'or. Doublure en écaille. Sur le couvercle, miniature à l'aquarelle et à la gouache sur ivoire, cerclée d'or, sous cristal encerclé par la moulure du couvercle.

Inscription - A l'intérieur de la boîte, inscription manuscrite sur papier quadrillé : "Mme de Rigny / 22 déc. 1907 / 1500 F" Numéro de délivrance du legs - A l'encre rouge : "H. 147"

Description iconographique:

La miniature figurant sur le couvercle de cette boîte reprend une composition de Jean-Baptiste Greuze, "La Laitière", qui fut gravée par Levasseur (une épreuve au musée du Louvre, département des Arts graphiques, collection Edmond de Rothschild, portefeuille 234, inv. 6352 L.R.).
