Bouillon ist nahe der belgisch-französischen Grenze in Wallonien gelegen. Bekannt wurde der Ort vor allem durch Godefroid de Bouillon (geb.1060 in Boulonge sur Mer, Frankreich, gest.1100 in Jerusalem). Godefroid de Bouillon führte als Heerführer den ersten Kreuzzug an.
