English: 1987 Austin Maestro Mail van D566TCW and 1982 Land Rover Series 3 Post Bus B887JSS (Actually built in 1979) were on display at the only Public Open Day to be held during 2022 at the private Colne Valley Postal History Museum in Halstead, Essex.
The Scottish Post Bus carries the Scottish Royal Cipher with the crown of St.Andrew and no "EiiR" - as Elizabeth II was the first Queen of that name to reign over Scotland. The English-registered Maestro on the other hand shows the English & Welsh cipher with the crown of St.Edward. That crown will also be used for the Coronation of the new King Charles III. The new King will have the same Regnal Title in both Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom as both Charles I and Charles II reigned after the Act of Union between the two Kingdoms. |
