English: Sunday Stroll 30 March 2008 ∙ #12
TV broken open and the copper collar removed from the CRT tube. Glendish Road Tottenham. Haringey residents can arrange for a free collection of televisions and other electrical equipment. It usually takes one phonecall. As much as possible is recycled and there are no jagged bits of circuit board or glass on our pavements (sidewalks). ______________________________ Links § Thanks to Dave for information about copper wiring on old TV CRT tubes. Click here for Big Dave's TV page - especially if you live in Ohio and want to donate your very old set. ● Special Note Dave confidently claims: "The world's worst TV restoration site on the whole world wide web, and damn proud of it". But as he modestly admits it's also about recycling. And less modestly: "My sets, after proper restoration will most likely work better than when they were new. A recapped set will most likely still work when their modern CRT, LCD and Plasma sets die. While these sets did not work well with a VCR, they respond well to DVD players. There is something about watching old TV shows on period correct sets." |
