English: Interior view of the stage hall of progressive boarding school Schule am Meer (School by the Sea) on the East Frisian island Juist. The stage hall was planned by renowned Berlin-based Jewish architect Bruno Ahrends (1878–1948) and erected in 1930/31. Students and teachers in costumes on stage. Far left in the back headmaster Martin Luserke. The building nationwide was the one and only free-standing stage hall of a school.
Deutsch: Innenansicht der 1930/31 nach Plänen des Berliner Architekten Bruno Ahrends (1878–1948) errichteten Bühnenhalle des reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheims Schule am Meer im Loog auf der ostfriesischen Insel Juist in Preußen; Schüler und Lehrer kostümiert auf dem Treppenaufgang zur Bühne positioniert. Auf der Bühne ist hinten ganz links der Schulleiter Martin Luserke (1880–1968) zu erkennen. Das Gebäude war reichsweit die einzige freistehende Theaterhalle einer Schule. |
