For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Im Lager der Mohamedanischen Rotgardisten! Bei den in den Kämpfen zwischen Sowjet Russland und Polen nach Ostpreußen übergetretenen bolschewistischen Divisionen befand sich auch eine grosse Anzahl Mohamedaner aus den Tartatenstämmen der Krim und des Kaukasus. Um diesen die Befriedigung ihres religiösen Bedürfnisses zu geben, hat die deutsche Regierung diese Internierten abgesondert und sie in dem sogenannten Halbmondlager in Wünsdorf bei Zossen (Nähe Berlin) untergebracht. In diesem Lager waren bereits während des Krieges mohamedanische Gefangene. Die Moschee des Lagers ist eine frühere Stiftung des ehemaligen deutschen Kaisers. Die jetzige deutsche Regierung hat es unternommen, diese mohamedanischen Rotgardisten, die zum Teil Analphabeten sind, durch passende Lehrer aus ihrer Mitte selbst zu unterrichten, um Ihnen über die Einförmigkeit der Internierung hinwegzuhelfen und hat ihnen eine Bibliothek von türkischen und russischen Werken sowie einen Lesesall zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Lagerküche bereitet den Internierten das Essen nach mohamedanischen Ritus und wird täglich durch den sogenannten Mulla (Moh. Oberpriester) geprüft. Der Anblick der Internierten die bunt zusammengewürfelt gekleidet sind, ist für den Besucher höchst originell. |
