For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Halle, Güterbahnhof, Rangier-Lok
ADN-ZB Lehmann 27.5.80 Halle: Als "Drehscheibe im Eisenbahnverkehr" wird der Güterbahnhof Halle bezeichnet, der neben dem in Dresden-Friedrichstadt der bedeutendste Güterumschlagplatz im Eisenbahnverkehr der DDR ist. Von hier werden täglich rund 100 Güterwageneinheiten mit etwa 4.000 Wagen aufgelöst und rund 90 Züge neugebildet. Kohle aus den Tagebauen des Bezirkes und Erzeugnisse der Chemiegroßbetriebe Leuna, Buna, Wolfen und Bitterfeld werden von hier weitertransportiert. Täglich passieren weiterhin etwa 180 Durchgangszüge das Gelände. Blick zur Berliner Brücke (alt). |
