Deutsch: Burg Greifenstein, Rekonstruktionsversuch – Die Ruine der Burg liegt im Westerwald, genauer im Dillwesterwald. Es sind die Überreste einer Höhenburg deren Name erstmals 1160 in einer Urkunde auftauchte. Ende des 13. Jh. wurde sie durch die Nassauer und Solmser Grafen zerstört und danach nicht mehr aufgebaut. 1676 baute Graf Wilhelm Moritz von Solms-Greifenstein die Ruine zu einem barocken Schloss um, dass aber schon 1693 wieder aufgegeben wurde und danach wieder zur Ruine verfiel. Um den Erhalt der Ruine kümmert sich heute der Greifenstein-Verein, der auch Besitzer der Anlage ist. Die Ruine Greifenstein ist seit 1995 'Denkmal von Nationaler Bedeutung'. |
