editDescriptionCV-19 7Apr1945.jpg | Wrecked aircraft of Carrier Air Group Six (CVG-6) in the forward hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CV-19) on 7 April 1945. The Hancock had been hit by a "Kamikaze" suicide plane on the port side opposite the forward Mk 37 gun director. 62 crewmen died, 71 were injured and the carrier had to return to the United States for repairs. |
