Text
editThe Merrick Postmastership. There seems to he a popular uprising in Merrick against the effort being made to oust the present postmaster, Caleb D. Kinner. The petition, which has been placed in Chandler's drug store, now has upward of 400 signatures, and the list is rapidly increasing. Should it remain open until Saturday night, it is probable that more than 600 signers will he enrolled, which is more than one for each box in the office. This general expression of the patrons of the office would seem to insure Mr. Kinner the position for a time at least.
