Description New Orleans: Late 19th century view of Canal Street, looking "West & North" (away from the Mississippi River) from the top of the Morris Building. The Henry Clay Statue at the corner of Royal/St. Charles is prominently seen, along with horse trams, meaning it predates the electrification of the streetcars in the 1890s. The first Maison Blanche Building at Dauphine street is visible, dating the image from after that building replaced old Christ's Church in 1883.
