editSagamore Hills' Poet Oldrin Dies. Sagamore Hills, Ohio. Carl Miller Oldrin, once called the "sage of Sagamore Hills" for his poetry, died Saturday in Akron St. Thomas Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Oldrin, who lived at 8017 Boyden rd., was born in Sea Cliff, New York. As a young man he was a printer in Detroit and Cleveland. A few years ago he published a booklet, "Leaves With An Uplift." which contained his favorite quotes and a few of his original poems. He was an expediter for Goodrich from 1942 until he retired in 1950. He also worked as a clerk for the city of Cleveland from 1932 until 1942. Mr. Oldrin had lived in Sagamore Hills 20 years. He was a member of the Northfield Presbyterian Church. He leaves his wife Jean; a son, Stuart of Cutchogue, Long Island, N.Y., and three grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Bedford. The Rev. Lawrence Glasco will officiate. Burial will be in Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
