Description	English: Carte de visite of Dr Alexander Johnston (1 June 1825 – 4 September 1895), born in Birmingham, England. The brother of Dr Charles Johnston and the architect of Goldie's Brae. A similar (except for foxing) albumen print of this photo is held in the collection of the National Library of New Zealand. The verso (writing on the back of the photo) has written in handwriting the words '1869 Mother's Uncle Dr Alec Johnston'.
