Italiano: Castello di Barletta, nella ex chiesetta - Lapide tombale di Giovanni Castriota [sic! Branai Castriotia], discendente Scanderbeg (*1702), castellano di Barletta dal 1750 al 1762; Qui dorme nel sonno eterno, venendo dall'est, [un] discendente [della famiglia di] Scanderbeg dei principi dei Bruntunium [Botrugno] e dei marchesi di Castiglione [d'Otranto] [nel territorio] di Lecce. Onorato con coraggio, adornato con misericordia e onorevole nei suoi modi, giace sepolto qui [nel] castello reale Giovanni Castriota dell'età di 73 anni, [il] più fedele capitano e governatore militare [della] città di Barletta. Nell'anno del Signore 1762. Don Horatius Spera, cappellano reale, fece questo per venerazione.
Deutsch: Schloss von Barletta, in der ehemaligen Kapelle - Grabstein von Giovanni Castriota, Nachkomme von Skanderbeg (*1702), Kastellan von Barletta von 1750 bis 1762 Hier schläft in ewigem Schlaf, aus dem Osten kommend, [ein] Nachkomme Skanderbeg [aus der Familie] der Fürsten von Bruntunium [Botrugno] und der Markgrafen von Castiglione [d'Otranto] [im Gebiet] von Lecce. Ausgezeichnet an Tapferkeit, geschmückt mit Erbarmen und ehrenhaft in seinen Sitten, der königlichen Burg in der allergetreuesten Stadt Barletta Vorstand und Militärgouverneur, seines Alters 73 Jahre liegt Johannes Castriota hier begraben.
