Nederlands: Identificatie Titel(s): Centaur-aquamanile Objecttype: aquamanile beeld Objectnummer: BK-16914 Omschrijving: Centaur-aquamanile van koperlegering. Het in cire perdue-techniek gegoten en bijgeciseleerde voorwerp, waarin de details zijn uitgestoken of gegraveerd, heeft de vorm van een vrouwelijke centaur. Zij draagt op haar rechterarm een in wikkels gehuld kindje en houdt met haar linkerhand een grote borst op, die als tuit dienst doet. De voorpoten eindigen in voeten, de achterpoten in klauwen. De S-vormige staart sluit aan op een als handvat fungerende draak, die zich met kop en poten in het haar van de centaur heeft vastgezet. In het hoofd van de centaur is een met een scharnier bevestigde klep uitgezaagd om het met water te kunnen vullen. Het gat in de borst van het dier is na verwijdering van de gietkern dichtgemaakt. Ook op andere plaatsen zijn stukken ingezet. In de rug van het dier een min of meer driehoekige opening, waardoor aan de binnenkant drie resten van gietnaalden zijn waar te nemen.
