English: Caption text says "Chicago's much abused Black Hawks seem to have taken on a new lease on life but the other clubs in the National league made things miserable for this trio of defenders during the first half of the season. Chicago's progress was so slow that Bob Trapp, left, and Chuck Gardener, center, were benched in favor of the ponderous Amby Moran, recently secured from the Prairie league, and the 41-year-old Hughie Lehman. However, the youthful Marvin Wentworth, right, has been playing too much good hockey to be shelved. The Black Hawks make their second appearance in Detroit at Olympia tonight." |
