The United Nations Development Programme has concluded an agreement with the Government to assist it in its plans to strengthen and expand the Faculty by supplying experts, fellowships and equipment in order to increase the technical level of education, according to the needs of industry, to introduce new fields of study and to train the teaching staff. UNESCO has the responsibility for the implementation of this project. Practical work in the chemistry laboratory third-year student Iris Mallea is seen here experimenting on the production of sulphur dioxide.

Le Programme des Nations-Unies pour le Développement - dont l'UNESCO est l'agent d'exécution - a conclu un accord avec le Gouvernment cubain en vue d'aider celui-ci à renforcer la Faculté en mettant à sa disposition des experts, des bourses et du matériel, afin d'élever le niveau technique des études en fonction des besoins de l'industrie. Son but est également d'élargir le champ des études et de former le personnel enseignant. Au laboratoire de chimie, Iris Mallea, étudiante de 3e année travaille à l'obtention d'anhydride sulfureux.
