Description

This is a reworking of a 2-year old shot. This is the first photo pf a project to show the world that our small town of El Segundo (population 16,000) is actually quite pretty. This is despite having the Los Angeles International airport directly on the North, and the refinery directly on the South. I think the refinery is nice. The Pacific Ocean is on the West, and the rest of Los Angeles is everywhere else. Ok, a refinery shot is perhaps not the best first photo for this project, but is the only one I have so far. Nicer large

We are also an industrial powerhouse :) According to Wikipedia, the source of all knowledge, many large aerospace companies have facilities in El Segundo, including Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX and The Aerospace Corporation, which is headquartered there. It is also home to the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), which is responsible for space-related acquisition for the military, toy manufacturer Mattel, satellite TV provider DirecTV, IT services firm Computer Sciences Corporation, power semiconductor company International Rectifier, grocery chain Fresh and Easy, the Internet company Internet Brands (parent company of CarsDirect), the vulnerability assessment company Rapid7 and Teledyne Controls.
