PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

This is the entrance to Castillo Hidalgo, a tribute to Captain Manuel Hidalgo (a captain who died in the battle of Chacabuco) on Santa Lucia Hill. It was early so I could not get inside the gates.

It is on the top of the Santa Lucia hill, in the historic center of the city of Santiago, it was built in 1816, it is one of the most important buildings in the history of the city

The Battle of Chacabuco was fought during the Chilean War of Independence, February 12, 1817. The Army of the Andes of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata defeated the Spanish force.
