Cholera hill. A memorial eartmound. Near it is the Lischka Lipót Education Trail 'Cholera Hill' information board, details about it: 'From Persia through Caspian traders, Asian-Russian soldiers deployed during the anti-Russian Polish uprising brought the epidemic from the north-east to Eastern Europe. The epidemic reached the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary in 1830-1831, reached Békéscsaba in July 1831, where he had 2,000 victims. There was a nationwide lockdown 3 months long. In total, the Hungary lost a quarter of a million people (~3% of population). Presumably, partly as a result of the epidemic, the drainage or drying of the surrounding marshlands began, as well as the reorientation of rivers. In order to ensure healthy drinking water needs, mechanical engineer Béla Zsigmondy led the drilling of artesian wells 300-500 meters deep started in 1890, replacing low-depth, polluted, low-depth wells. One of these wells still feeds the Fisherman's Girl Well (on Kossuth Square) in the 2020s. The victims of the cholera epidemic rest under the trees of the grove, this part of the park is a place of remembrance.' - Near the mound of earth there is an obelisk on a two-steps pedestal. Its inscription reads: ~~"Two thousand local rest at the foot of this memory, whom the furious poison of the bile gland snatched away from their dear ones in the course of weeks", on the other side '"In 1831 began on July 25, ended on Sept. 6./died 306 Rom. Catholics/1851 Lutherans/51 old Believers??/11 Israelites" on the third side there is a Slovak inscription, on the fourth side 'Eternal memory of the forerunners' - Széchenyi liget (Széchenyi Grove), Békéscsaba, Békés County, Hungary.

Közelében van a Lischka Lipót Tanösvény 'Koleradomb' című tájékoztató tábla, részletek erről: 'Perzsiából Kaszpi-tenger vidéki kereskedők közvetitésével, észak-kelet felől az oroszelleneles lengyel felkelés idején bevetett ázsiai-orosz katonák hozták Kelet-Európába, majd 1830-1831-re a Magyar Királyság területére a járvány. 1831 júliusában érte el Csabát ahol 2000 áldozata volt. Az országos zárlat 3 hónapig tartott. Az ország összesen negyedmillió embert vesztett. Vélhetően részbe a járvány eredményeként megkezdödött a környékbeli mocsaras területek lecsapolása ill. kiszárítása valamint a folyók új mederbe történő terelése. Az egészséges ívóvízszükséglet biztosítására Zsigmondy Béla gépészmérnők vezetésével 1890-ben megkezdödött az 300-500 méter mély artézi kútak fúrása, kiváltava ezzel alacsony mélységű szennyezett alacsony mélységű kutakat. Az egyik ilyen kút még a 2020-as években is a Halászlányos kútat táplálja. A kolerajárvány áldozatai a liget fái alatt nyugszanak, a park ezen része az emlékezés helye.'
