Built at Cleveland OH by Globe Iron Works, Hull 15 Launched Oct 20, 1887 With Corona longest bulk freighter on the Great Lakes (until Pontiac of 1889 – superseded Cambria of 1887)

312’6” LOA, 292’ LBP, 40’ beam, 24’6” depth 2 decks, hatches @ 24’, coal-fired boilers, triple expansion engine, 1200 IHP

Enrolled at Cleveland OH April 12, 1888 (#78) 299.5 x 40.8 x 21.0, 2364.35 GT, 1786.58 NT US 126474 to: Mutual Transportation Co., Cleveland OH, M. A. Hanna & Co., Mgr. (home port Cleveland OH) (Fleet controlled by Elbert H. Gary’s Federal Steel Co. 1899-1901)

Entered service 1888

Fleet merged spring 1901 into Pittsburgh Steamship Co., Duluth MN, a subsidiary of United States Steel Corporation, A. B. Wolvin, Mgr. (home port to Duluth MN)

Sold 1912 to Lakewood Steamship Co., Cleveland OH, Hutchinson & Co., Mgr. (home port to Fairport OH)

Sold 1913 to Calumet Transit Co., Duluth MN, G. A. Tomlinson, Mgr. (home port to Duluth MN)

Sold 1914 to Corsica Transit Co., Cleveland OH, Hutchinson & Co., Mgr. (home port to Fairport OH)

Sold May 27, 1916 to Coastwise Steamship Co., Boston MA for off-Lakes service during World War I. Cut in two at Buffalo NY by Buffalo Dry Dock Co. Great Lakes enrollment surrendered at Buffalo NY Aug 30, 1916. Towed down Welland Canal Sept 3, 1916. Rejoined at Lauzon QC by Davie Shipbuilding & Repairing Co.

Scrapped 1926 at Baltimore MD by Boston Iron & Metal Co.
