Summary edit

Description
English: One of frequently asked question is about lamps blinking during starting device containing coil. This phenomenon is quite widespread in old buildings with old thin wiring.
  • Let's consider more close:
  • What influences to current's value if voltage is constant?
  • -Due to Ohm's law - resistance.
  • What forms resistance in the coil?
  • -Self-induction's current resists to current's gaining.
  • -But what is about first 1/2 sine wave?
  • -As there is missing self-induction current, only wire resists to current's gaining; it means that start current will equal to short-circuit mode. As for buildings with old wiring (where wire gauge is not enough), voltage can squat to 15% or even 20% and lamps begin to shine weak in starting moment.
