Description
Français : Une stèle commémorative pour un officier de gendarmerie français tué lors de la poursuite de délinquants de droit commun qui tentaient de s'enfuir. Le gendarme B.Roger fut également tué, non loin de là, lors de la même opération. Il s'agit bien de "victimes du devoir", et non de "morts pour la France". En arrière plan des anciens marais salants et plus loin le Mont Saint-Clair et la ville de Sète.

English: A commemorative stele for a french Gendarmerie officer been killed in duty with another gendarme. It is written on the stele :

"Here fell
victim of the duty
the lieutenant
Paul Marsault
the 19 December
1941".

In background former salt evaporation ponds and farther the Mount Saint-Clair and the town of Sète.
