Description

Cortinarius persplendidus Gasp.

Image location: Wilson River Primitive Reserve, New South Wales, Australia

Small immature fungi with bright paprika red fine close gills. Shallow rooted. Single specimen in Eucalyptus forest. Cap dark brown and stipe tapers outward towards the base, May be Cortinarius persplendidus. Stipe mainly yellow with some red colouring towards the cap.
