Deutsch: Mit Genehmigung der Bezirksregierung vom 8. September 1975 erhielt die Gemeinde Rivenich das Recht dieses Wappen zu führen.
Laut Urkunde vom 30.12.1704 wurde von Hugo Ernst Graf Cratz von Scharfenstein dem Freiherren Karl Kaspar von Kesselstatt, Probst des Domstiftes Sankt Paulin zu Trier und Statthalter daselbst, all sein Recht am Dorf Rivenich und Erlenbach geschenkt. Durch Schräglinksteilung des Wappenschildes ist im oberen Teil mit Genehmigung der Familie von Kesselstatt das Wappen der früheren Freiherren und späteren Reichsgrafen von Kesselstatt dargestellt. Die stufenförmige Schräglinksteilung des Schildes symbolisiert den Sparrenbalken der Grafen von Manderscheid. Rivenich gehörte zum manderscheidich-bruch'schen Hochgericht von 1764. Die goldenen Ähren in rotem Feld beziehen sich auf den heiligen Brictius, den Pfarrpatron von Rivenich. Im Siegel des gemeinsamen manderscheidisch-bruch'schen Hochgerichts vom 24. Februar 1765 ist der heilige Brictius als Pfarrpatron von Rivenich mit den ihn aus der Legende charakterisierenden drei Ähren dargestellt. |
