Deutsch: Das von Otto Hupp entworfene und am 14 Juni 1929 vom preußischen Staatsministerium verliehene Wappen symbolisiert die seit Jahrhunderten bekannte Wildpferdezucht im Ortsteil Crange. Das Beizeichen zeigt das Wappen der Herren von Eickel, die von 1275 (belegt) bis 1522 die größte Grundherrschaft in der ehemaligen Gemeinde hatten.
English: The arms of Wanne-Eickel, designed by Otto Hupp, were granted on June 14, 1929. They symbolise the horse breeding in the district Crange in the city. The horse breeding was a privilege of the owners of the area. The small shield are the arms of the Lords of Eickel. |
