DE STRIJD TEGEN HET BALDADIG BRANDALARM; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 10 uit 1938.; Voorlichtingsfilmpje over een nieuwe brandmelder die minder gevoelig is voor vandalisme. SHOTS: - kwajongen loopt langs brandmelder en zet "stiekem" het alarm in werking; - gevel van de Amsterdamse brandweerkazerne; - brandweer rukt uit en rijdt naar de plaats van de melding; - brandweerman constateert loos alarm, terwijl rokende kwajongen dit van afstand gadeslaat; - toespraak door de commissaris van de Amsterdamse brandweer, C. Gordijn jr. waarna hij de werking van de nieuwe, door hem ontworpen brandmelder demonstreert; - kwajongen wil nogmaals het alarm in werking zetten, maar wordt nu, doordat het in werking stellen meer handelingen vraagt en het alarm luider is, voortijdig opgemerkt door burgers op straat, waarna hij door een politieman in de kraag wordt gepakt.
